This bacterial infection is now in its 5th week. I am getting better, slowly but it is slowly. I still have no energy, but at the same time, my 24-hour day consists of lying in bed or sitting in an office chair. I am not doing anything to make me tired so that I can sleep.
On the good side, my leg has stopped shedding skin, and the swelling is at long last going down. I have been out a couple of times in the car which was a total treat – anything to escape my office prison! Zero energy always catches up, though, with me sensing that I might collapse if I don’t sit down. I have still lost the 10kgs, though and kept it off even though my appetite returned so that’s also good.
The best part? I have at last resumed writing. I did some work on ‘The Help’ and that triggered an idea for another book – ‘The Botanist’s Wife’. I told a little about it in the previous blog to this one and will elaborate a bit more in the near future.
Yes…at last, things are looking up.
