Well… after what seemed like an age, and after the epic wait while I got the final draft in, finally… book cover designs are being proposed. A couple I do not like , one is so-so and one is OK, with some modifications. I dont generally post pics in the blog but I will post the shortlisted option, i.e. the one I want to go with, in the newsletter for this month.
I am really feeling optimistic now. basically, after this cover design agreement the only thing left is deciding on a market strategy. I have been avidly following a LOT of authors on Twitter to gauge how they ‘do it’…what work, what is a waste of time, where it should be…lots of marketing decisions.
I know a bit about marketing from my online selling activities from the past, but this is totally new. There will be paperback versions of the book (virtually no-one prints hardbacks these days, unless a book really takes off and there is a demand) but I am guessing a lot of the sales (haha he’s thinking lots of sales!!) will be for the Kindle. I am fine with that – a sale is a sale and gets the book out there, but is that marketing different? All to be found out and revealed in next months gripping instalment of ‘Mark’s Book Blog‘…
